Prof. JOFFRE M. ALAJAR

One of the distinguished, dedicated, and of course the most soft-hearted administrator, a professor and a God’s given angel in the College of Arts and Sciences at San Beda University, no other than Dr. Joffre M. Alajar. Message to the Beda Community “My message for the Bedan community is that San Beda is not a perfect school but given another chance to live, I will still prefer to spend my entire life in this learning institution which I have learned to call my family, my home, and my one and only love.” Once a Bedan, will always and forever be a Proud Bedan In San Beda College, Sir Alajar learned his first ABCs in primary education, he studied higher Mathematics and Science during high school, and here he practiced his accounting expertise as he took up BS Accountancy. After studying, he used his accounting skills as an accountant in various big companies and taught for a while in some educational institution around the Metro. Sir Alajar have gone to different places but still, he came back to his love, San Beda. And still in San Beda University, he committed his lifetime duties to his Alma Mater. Dr. Alajar is a living proof of loyalty to every Bedan student now and then. San Beda, his only home since 19869, will always and forever be his family. As he said, his life will always be for San Beda, our country and God. His sacrifices to become his better version “Being a working student, time management was important to be able to study well for may post-graduate course and still be efficient and effective at work,” he quoted in an interview in Inquire Net. Aside from the need to wake up at 3:00 am, he joggled his sacrifices with tins of hard work, endless patience, everyday prayers, and determination helped him got what we have now. “Earning a doctoral degree through hard work was a very fulfilling and growth-promoting experience,” he ended. Living in Benedict’s Soul Despite of Saint Benedict’s luxury in life, he followed a simple and dignified life of work, study, and prayer. Like Sir Alajar, despite of all his achievements and wealth in life, we can see him walking through the corridors of San Beda wearing simple polo paired with shiny pair of shoes carrying an accounting book. Simplicity, intelligence, and kindness are what makes Sir Alajar one of the best. That’s Sir Alajar! An-All-Time-School-Superstar Even in his early years, Dr Joffre M. Alajar takes his studies seriously, he always does his very best inside the classroom by rarely being absent in his classes and coming to his classes always prepared. “I was very studious in studying and enjoyed learning. This must be the reason why I managed to survive a difficult course like Accounting,” he said. Angel in Disguise If you are a student in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) in San Beda University, Dr. Joffre M. Alajar is well known for his utmost consideration towards to his students when giving grades. According to him, he doesn’t want to see his student failing his class because it breaks his heart so as much as possible, he gives his students all the chances to pass so just show him your determination and eagerness to pass. His Trademarks Taglines “That is the great sign from Above, that God has other plans for you” and “Follow your heart more that your brain, your heart has more wisdom” are the everyday reminder of Dr. Alajar to students especially those who do not enjoy their course anymore. Aside from the intellectual knowledge, he shares to his students one of the most lessons that have embarked in the hearts of many is the ability to know God’s perfect plan. The Stumbling Block We all know that Dr. Joffre M. Alajar is a good, reliable, understanding and a very considerate professor in giving grades to his students and that’s what we love about him, but little do we know that he hates class disruptions and extra-curricular activities. So, whenever there are class disruptions, be sure to still attend his classes because there is a hundred percent chance that he is waiting for you inside that classroom.
